A look at our most anticipated games of 2021

Last year was a special one for the gamers. Not just gaming in lockdown was fun with new friends you met in 2020, the year provided us with top-notch gaming titles like Cyberpunk 2077, AC: Valhalla, Warzone, Last of Us 2, and many more; the next-gen console finished the decade in style. Now with a new year in hand, here are the most anticipated games of 2021 you should be craving for.

Hitman 3

(Available in – PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox X/S, Stadia, Nintendo)

As Agent 47 returns with the stealth game similar to its previous launches. Developed by IO Interactive, the game features six new locations including Dubai, Dartmoor, Berlin, and Chongqing. Further, players who owned the previous titles can import maps and levels into the game. Players also carry out contracted Assassinations across the locations. However, the developer removes the multiplayer and ghost mode from the series. Hitman 3 releases on 20th January 2021. If you are a fan of stealth gameplay, this game will definitely be a treat for the New Year.

Far Cry 6

(Available in – PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X/S,Stadia)

The First-person shooter/adventure from Ubisoft releases in February 2021. The sixth installment of the famous Far Cry series is probably going to be in the top charts of 2021 games. The game’s setting is on Yara, a fictional Caribbean Island. The player takes the role of guerilla fighter Dani Rojas, attempting to topple Castillo(El Presidente) and his regime. The gameplay is similar to the previous titles of the series with players using makeshift weapons, vehicles, hiring Amigos, and the new “Fangs for Hire” system. As usual, the game features an open-world theme.

Deathloop

(Available in – PC, PS 5)

The action-adventure game from Arkane Studios is set to be released in May 2021 under a one-year PS5 exclusive contract. The game features an assassin who is stuck in a time loop and is supposed to kill 8 targets before midnight or else the time loop resets and undo all of his actions. It is something similar to Dishonored and Prey, the previous launches by Arkane Studio. It will also feature a Multiplayer mode which shall definitely be worth trying. Deathloop brings a new playstyle with puzzle-solving and first-person shooting which would stand out in its genre.

Halo Infinite

(Available in – PC,Xbox One/X/S)

The upcoming first-person shooter game developed by 343 Industries, will release in fall 2021. It will continue the story of the Master Chief, following Halo 5:Guardians. The story will be set on a Halo ring that has mysteriously suffered damage. The design of Master Chief’s MJOLNIR armor is back along with the ‘Banished’. The gameplay is pretty the same with advanced graphics. The game might be the last standalone of the Halo Series.

God of War – Ragnarok

(Available in – PS 5)

Surely one of the most anticipated sequels of the year is God of War: Ragnarok. Developed by Santa Monica Studio, the action-adventure game is a sequel to 2018’s God of War. The game will be played in ancient Norway, featuring the protagonists Kratos and his young son Atreus. Consequently, the game is expected to initiate Ragnarök, a series of events that bring about the end of days and depict the deaths of the Norse gods. The gameplay is hack and slash, adventure with next-gen graphics. More importantly, the game holds strong expectations after the 2018’s success.

Hogwarts Legacy

(Available in – PC,PS4,PS5,Xbox One,Xbox X/S)

Something to cheer for the Potterhead as they get a role-playing game in 2021 based on Hogwart Wizarding world. Avalanche Software is the developer. The game’s setting is in the 1800s. The player plays as a student of Hogwarts and gets to choose their houses and attend classes in Witchcraft and Wizardry. The game is an open-world RPG with locations to explore and magic spells to learn. Furthermore, the new-gen graphics would be a cherry on the cake.

Horizon Forbidden West

(Available in – PS4, PS5)

“The Horizon” gets a sequel as well in 2021. The action RPG will be a lot bigger than the 2017 release, with a bigger map to explore and deadlier machines to encounter. The game continues the story of Aloy, a young huntress of the Nora tribe sent on a quest to the arcane frontier known as the Forbidden West to find the source of a mysterious plague that kills all it infects. The game’s setting is in post-apocalyptic California, Utah, and Nevada. Developed by Guerrilla Games, the Horizon Forbidden West is one of the most anticipated games of the year.

Resident Evil – Village

(Available in – PC,PS5,Xbox X/S)

The Horror genre also gets a sequel( in the form of Resident Evil VIII) in 2021. The survival horror is developed and published by Capcom and is a sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The events of the game will take place in Europe and will be played as usual in the first-person perspective. During the reveal Capcom’s Kellen Haney said about the story: “Ethan’s world suddenly comes crashing down once again when Chris Redfield, an unexpected yet familiar face makes an appearance, setting off a chain of events that sees a distraught Ethan seeking answers to Chris’s shocking actions, and ultimately finding him in a mysterious village.” If you are into horror titles, this game has to be on your list.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

(Available in – PS5)

The Insomniac’s upcoming third-person shooter will serve as a continuation to Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus. Likewise, the players will explore the story of Ratchet and Clank as they traverse across multiple realities to stop an emperor’s collapse. Gameplay features an array of levels with gadgets and weapons to defeat enemies and traversing through various obstacles. It will feature instantaneous travel between different areas. Nonetheless, the PS5 would run the game smoothly with minimal loading times and additional visual effects.

Dying Light 2

(Available in – PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X)

The sequel to 2015s Dying Light also drops in 2021. The survival horror game by Techland features a new protagonist named Aiden Caldwell, events begin 15 years after Dying Light. Likewise, the gameplay features open-world Parkour with new grappling tools and paraglider. Featuring the same zombie apocalyptic themed RPG, the map is four times bigger than the prequel. For instance, the player can also upgrade melee weapons and crossbows with blueprints. Like its predecessor, it features a four-player co-op. As usual, the game has some good expectations after getting delayed multiple times.
