The game is definitely entertaining. Each island is randomly generated and has a very concrete goal: Open the portal to the next island. Defeat whatever ice monsters are in your way. The goal is simple, which lets the complexity of the game lie entirely within the management of the outcast Vikings. You build tents, lodging, farms, fisheries, mines, armories, shrines and military camps, along with everything else under the sun. You can expand upon these with additions to these buildings – Anvils, bow makers, and chopping logs. You make roads over commonly walked paths, set up campfires for your Vikings to gather at, and try to keep them from starving or getting eaten by wolves.
